Introduction to the CD1

(This section applies to CD1 pumps produced after 1/5/2026. For CD1 pumps produced before this date, go to the CD1 Legacy Help Center pages.)

Description

The CD1 Chem-Feed Multi-Diaphragm Pump is a positive displacement chemical metering pump that delivers smooth, continuous chemical feed even when injecting chemicals that off-gas, like Peracetic Acid and Sodium Hypochlorite.  The cutting-edge Hyperdrive Technology allows for alternating pumping action between two diaphragms: when one diaphragm is in the suction phase, the other is in the discharge, resulting in a smooth chemical feed profile and minimizing the risk of vapor lock.

The CD1 uses either DiaFlex or Flex-A-Prene diaphragms.  Diaphragms are warranted for the same duration as the pump.

Product Overview / Features

  • The CD1 pump can deliver:
    • 7.73 GPH (32.2 LPH) at 3O psi
    • 7.56 GPH at 60 psi
    • 7.24 GPH at 120 psi
    • 7.0 GPH at 180 psi
  • Brushless DC Motor capable of 2,000:1 Turndown. Can achieve low flows without stroke adjustment.
  • Available in “B” Base model or “C” Control model.
  • “C” Control model features manual speed control, 4-20 mA input and 4-20 mA output, Remote Start/Stop via Normally Open or Normally Closed Dry Contact, and FVS (Flow Verification System) input.
  • “B” Base includes manual speed control only and has no inputs/output options.
  • Integral DFD leak detection.
  • Remote Start/Stop via Normally Open or Normally Closed Dry Contact for “C” Model.
  • FVS (Flow Verification System) input.
  • Control Lockout Feature.
  • Wetted parts are PVDF, Aflas/EP, Ceramic (or Teflon) ball checks, and DiaFlex (or Flex-A-Prene) diaphragms.
  • Simple IP67 M12 connectors for communication wiring.
  • 2 Year Limited Warranty.

Applications

The CD1 is designed to provide smooth chemical feed for a variety of chemicals and processes.  It can reliably pump chemicals that off-gas such as sodium hypochlorite, peroxide, ammonia, and PAA (peracetic acid).

The smooth flow profile and full diaphragm stroke allow the CD1 to clear gases effectively, minimizing vapor-locking and the need for re-priming.

The CD1 is constructed of chemical-resistant materials, making it a great choice for aggressive acids and mixed or proprietary chemicals.

Ordering Information and Product Matrix

The CD1 diaphragm pump must be ordered with a complete part number that specifies the control option, diaphragm material, pump fittings, and power cord.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

CD1 Introduction

  • How long is the pump expected to last?

The pump is expected to have a lifespan of 6 years. However, with regular maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection, the pump can last much longer. Regular maintenance can help to prevent premature failure and extend the lifespan of the pump.

  • Will there be water in the pump when received by the end user? Why?

There may be trace amounts of water in the pump. Every pump is tested with filtered water as part of our quality process.

  • What is the difference between the CD1F and CD1V?

The CD1F and CD1V have the same specifications and performance. The CD1F has only manual speed adjustment, whereas the CD1V also includes 4-20 mA input for speed adjustment and 4-20 mA output for speed feedback.
