Priming the Pump

Before priming the pump, or starting the pump, be sure that all suction and discharge lines are connected properly and that proper valves are open.

Prime mode can be started by pressing the Prime button. The pump will run at 100% speed for 60 seconds.  The pump can be stopped at any time by pressing the Stop key.

If the A3(Legacy) pump has been programmed for Remote Start/Stop feature, press the Start button to put the pump into Ready mode.  (When in Remote Mode, the display will show “REMOTE” in the bottom right corner.)  The pump will run if receiving a signal (depending on how the Contact Closure is programmed.) If the pump is waiting for a signal to run, it will be in “STANDBY” state. The display change color and will read “STANDBY” if waiting for a signal from the user-provided control system. Once a signal is received, the pump will start/run.

Manual Speed Adjust

The initial/default mode of the pump will be “Manual Speed Adjust.”  Verify that you are in Manual Mode by noting the operating mode at the top of the screen. Adjust pump speed by pressing the Up and Down arrow keys. Pump speed can also be adjusted by pressing and holding the Mode button.  Then set the pump for a specific speed.  Press and hold Mode button to return to operation.

Note: Press and Hold Mode button while in any operating mode will take you directly to the setting screen for that mode. Adjust settings and Save, and/or press and hold Mode button again to return to normal operation.

Other Operating Modes

To run the A3(Legacy) pump in other operating modes (4-20mA, 0 – 10 VDC, Frequency, Pulse Input, Manual Cycle Adjust, Dispensing, Manual Dosing, Proportional Dosing), press and release Mode button until the desired mode is displayed on the top of the screen.

Tube Failure Detection (TFD) and Tube Information

The A3(Legacy) pump is equipped with leak detection located inside the pump head.  If a tube fails or leaks for any reason, the chemical will trigger the sensor, stop the pump, and activate an alarm.

If TFD alarm occurs, the pump will stop, close an alarm output, and the screen will flash with a red alarm. If the system has detected a chemical, the pump tube must be replaced, and the pump head and roller must be thoroughly cleaned.

Remove the front cover to replace the tube and roller. Failure to clean the pump head properly will void the warranty. See video on proper tube replacement.

At any time, tube hours can be accessed by pressing the Enter and Down Arrow buttons at the same time.
