pH is one of the most critical parameters in commercial pool water chemistry. Commercial aquatics facilities typically manage pH using one of two methods: dosing liquid acid (muriatic or sulfuric acid) with a chemical metering pump, or injecting carbon dioxide gas with a dedicated CO₂ feed system. Each method has distinct advantages depending on facility size, chemical handling capabilities, and local regulations.
